Everything was just perfect like we wished and hoped it would. Moreover, it’s a dream of every tournament director to have a domestic player in the final rounds and Jiří Veselý made our wishes and hopes come true.
Even though Jiří Veselý was not in great form during the tournament he did his best to defend the title and I warmly congratulate him. Laslo Djere of Serbia was a great surprise for many, but his advance to the finals only proved how closely balanced the tournament was. Honestly, almost nobody expected Djere in the finals. There were three Serbians in the semi-finals which reveals that Novak Djokovic must be a great inspiration. I would like to thank the general manager of UniCredit Bank Jiří Kunert for his kind words of praise and promise on behalf of our team that we will, in the following years, do our best to organize the tournament to everybody’s satisfaction again.“
