A Czech Player to Appear in Semis for Sure!

08.06.2023 11:26:17 | The quarter-finals of the UniCredit Czech Open showed that Czech tennis will dominate the end of the tournament. Jiří Lehečka, Tomáš Macháč, Dalibor Svrčina and Jakub Menšik they all have advanced to the last eight, only Hynek Bartoň has been knocked out and will not make it to the quarter-finals. Even so, he can be very satisfied with his performance in the Hana Region as he advanced far from qualification on his debut on the ATP Tour. Having won the three previous matches, he was not able to keep up with the favoured Dimitar Kuzmanov (208th ATP). How about today's semi-final matches? Czech tennis will be represented in three of them and optimists say three Czechs have a big chance to make it among the last four!

The semi-finals will sure see a Czech player, either Jakub Menšík or Dalibor Svrčina. Jiří Lehečka is playing Slovak Lukáš Klein (133rd ATP) who is defending last year's semi-final. "I expect a tough match that will sure be far from easy again. He’s a good player who plays an active fast tennis and likes to go to the net. I would say our styles are very similar. Yet, I believe I’m more experienced and will do my best to beat Lukáš," Lehečka said.
