Three Prospects for Czech Tennis

01.06.2022 10:44:57 | Wednesday's programme at the UniCredit Czech Open offers really attractive matches. It will also decide whether Czech tennis will be represented in singles in Prostějov in the next few days. Moreover, only two of the eight seeded players survived the first round: Veselý and Lehečka retired from the tournament due to health problems, Svrčina beat the defending champion and the top seed Federico Coria, Kolar was knocked out by lucky loser Louis Wessels of Germany and Slovak Norbert Gombos was ousted by Hamad Medjedovic of Serbia (2003).

The last one received a wild card at the UniCreedit Czech Open in exchange of Menšík's appearance in Belgrade. Another seeded player Andrej Martin of Slovakia was knocked out of the tournament after losing to Couacaud of France. All in all, only Ymer of Sweden and Andujar of Spain have remained from the eight seeds.
What are the Czech chances in the tournament? The first one to appear on the Center Court will be Vít Kopřiva who will face Andujar, then Svrcina vs. Yevgeny Donsky of Russia, now ranked 217 ATP but his career high is 65 ATP, and Martin Krumich will play Wessels of Germany, who previously beat Kolar, at court No. 2 at 1:30 p.m.
